- Reviewing and recommending configuration of downhole tools to ensure safe operation and comprehensive / representative coverage of data across zones of interest. • Plans and programs are accurate, clear, concise and delivered on time.
- Updating existing data quality control procedures and monitor their application to maintain consistent acquired data quality. • Quality assurance programs are in place and function satisfactorily.
- Developing procedures, quality checks and standards for digitizing all forms of petrophysical data. • Optimum log data utilization.
• Cost effective solutions for reservoir and well performance monitoring and evaluation.
• Controls and directs activities related to acquisition strategy of petrophysical data. • Clear criteria for auditing data acquisition and processing requirements.
- Reviewing available data to develop and verify formation evaluation and reservoir characterization model; • Accurate identification of hydrocarbon resources, productivity estimates from logs and reservoir quality.
- Verifying / modifying existing approach / parameters to quantify uncertainties; • Accurate interpretations of mineralogical and lithofacies of subsurface formations.

• Recommend data for reservoir and well performance monitoring, corrosion evaluation and downhole well integrity diagnosis. • Effective new cased hole measurement and/or interpretation techniques that, improve the ability to determine rock and fluid properties, casing/cement integrity and/or save cost.
• Ensure effective maintenance of petrophysical data archive in various formats (digital, film, hard copies)
• Data availability and accessibility.
• Effective well data management system.
• Supervises petrophysical data handling and processing and processing techniques on single well or multi wells basis. Includes: • Petrophysical databases are comprehensive, accurate and up to date.
- Directing the development of processing models, ensuring consistency in the applied calculation parameters; and • Effective use of computer modeling programs.
- Optimization of rock physical properties for accurate formation evaluation, reservoir characterization and reservoir’s monitoring. • Accurate interpretations of mineralogy and lithology, reservoir properties and fluid saturations of subsurface formations.
• Carries out technical review of new technologies and techniques. • Industry best practices are introduced, streamlined and adopted as required.
• Liaises with wireline logging contractors to enhance usage of resources in a cost effective manner. • Areas requiring improvements in tools and procedures are highlighted.
• Investigates new logging tools and techniques, proposes and organizes field trials, evaluates results and recommends application of new technology as appropriate. • New technology trials are properly evaluated and effectively applied.
• Keeps abreast of technological development in the field of petrophysics. Identifies new technologies and evaluates their potential application, recommends their testing and introduction when justified.
• Keeps up to date on logging contract issues and industry trends and suggests ways and means of incorporating new approaches in COMPANY contracts. • Up to date with the state of the art technologies and procedures.
• Logging contracts are cost-effective.
